The collaboration between Alinghi Red Bull Racing and Roca at the 37th America’s Cup in Barcelona marks a pioneering venture into the future of smart living. As part of the collaboration, Roca equipped the Alinghi Red Bull Racing headquarters in Barcelona's Port Vell with the brand's state-of-the-art bathroom solutions. These solutions include toilets, faucets and smart showers, all seamlessly integrated with Roca Connect, the brand’s cloud-based smart bathroom framework and digital platform that allows real-time control of Roca's smart bathroom products. The team can capture and monitor important information and behavioural patterns in the bathroom facilities by incorporating IoT technology. The aim of this collaborative approach is to optimize maintenance and cleaning costs, while promoting a conscientious approach to water conservation. Smart Shower

Imagine jumping out of bed, to find that the water in the bathroom is pre-heated for you at the perfect temperature. Imagine an intelligent control that allows you, with a simple gesture, to regulate temperature, modify the flow or pause it to lather up, and then resume at the touch of a button. Imagine having different customisable profiles so that you can configure the shower exactly to your liking. Imagine integrated cleaning programmes that eliminate bacteria and protect against staining from limescale and impurities. Stop imagining and make space for the new Roca Smart Shower.

Other projects

It was with this philosophy that the discreet under countertop basins Neo Selene were selected, as well as the efficiency of the Instant self-closing faucets. The refurbishment was completed with the versatile Meridian WCs and the accessories from the Access collection, fundamental to facilitate access to the bathroom to people with reduced mobility. Equipping one of Barcelona’s most visited cultural infrastructures requires assuring the best service and maximum durability and efficiency. The combination of bathroom solutions with elegant designs such as under countertop basins is proof of the attention to detail in a project destined to provide service to one of the most emblematic buildings in Barcelona.

Thus, the bathroom spaces surrendered to the original shapes of the vitreous china collections such as Khroma and Hall as well as to the Oslo compact WCs or the Euret urinals. All of this without forgetting the commitment to energy efficiency by installing the Loft-E faucets, activated by a presence sensor. The perfect combination of design, resistance and efficiency was the key to face not only one of the world’s most important events, but also its celebration in one of the planet’s most populated countries. The selected collections and sanitary appliances provide the outstanding durability and hygiene of Roca’s vitreous china while the Loft-E basin faucets, only activated by the presence of a human being, avoid the unnecessary waste of water in a place destined to receive millions of visits.

Roca was the company chosen by the organizers of the Olympic Games, as their products meet stringent requirements relating to water conservation. Accommodation in the Olympic Village, which housed the 16,000 athletes participating in the 2008 Olympic Games, is characterised by its use of renewable energy such as solar power which supplies part of the lighting, and by other environmental features such as the collection and recycling of rainwater.

The architects who designed the Spodek were selected in 1959 in a competition announced by the Association of Polish Architects. The team of designers from the Office of Studies and Typical Designs of Industrial Construction from Warsaw included the architects: Maciej Gintowt and Maciej Krasiński. The author of the structure of the Spodek was prof. Eng. Wacław Zalewski, a genius constructor, author of the construction of the Katowice railway station and the Warsaw Supersam. A collaborator of prof. Zalewski was Andrzej Żórawski. An ardent supporter of building a modern hall in the center of Katowice was the Silesian voivode, General Jerzy Ziętek, who wanted it to be a symbol of the city. It was opened in 1971. The hotel was modernized through a competition in 2017. and the winner was an architectural studio from Kielce - 2G STUDIO MSc. arch. Wojciech Gwizdak. The toilets in the building are equipped with Roca products.

After major reconstruction, the well-known building has both regained much of its historical appearance and become one of the world's most technically advanced theatre venues.bRussia's main national theatre, Bolshoi is a bearer of Russian musical traditions and one of the world's important musical centres that promote the development of dramatic art. Hall, Meridian and Dama Senso collections, along with the classical style Florentina faucets, are present in the bathrooms of this iconic building.

With a capacity of 42.968 people, it will also be capable of hosting other events such as shows, exhibitions and trade fairs.
